    SVS 20-30 PC-Plus calibration?

I have a SVS 20-39 PC-Plus and I was wondering how many dbs I should calibrate it to. At high levels, i've had it "bottom out" or "flubber" and it scared me that I may have damage it. Any idea? In order for me to keep this from happening, I cannot turn it up anymore than 1/3 of the way and that just doesn't seem to be right....any sugguestions?

The proper way to calibration was to set the dbs same as other speakers output. However, most of the people do not satisfy with subwoofer hitting 70-80dbs as others speakers do. I usually keep the subwoofer around 85dbs max which is 5-10dbs lower than other speakers. Yet, listening experience is perfectly personal. Just do whatever your ears are pleased.

With the new woofer SVS did I have my subwoofer 1/3 or lower most of the time, depends on the material that I am listening(action movies I usually turn them down for excessive bass/boom).

maseline, the thing I've found is that most likely the best thing for you to do is move it to a different spot in the room to increase the sub's performance. Even a movement of a few inches can be dramatic. It may not be that your sub is weak, but your placement is hindering it.

Just want to add something: try to place the sub to where you listen and walk around the room to see where sounds the best. Put the sub to that position then go back to your seat and enjoy.
