    Sharp Mini Component System

I am going to buy the Sharp 800 Watt Mini Component System!

    They have 2 models: SYS-10000 & CD-G10000P!

What are the difference of these 2 models?

Does anybody own one of these systems?

Can anybody tell information about these 2 models: Sound Output, Sound Quality, Features etc.?

    Thank You! :T

    Master400,

Welcome to HT Guide. Here are the links via Sharp website for comparison.

    Sharp CD-G10000P

    Sharp SYS-G10000

It seems the primary difference is that the SYS-10000 has 200 Watts/channel, and the CD-G10000P 135 Watts/channel with the rear pushing 65W/channel.

Unfortunately, I haven't heard either of these units.

    Best regards,

    Azeke

I noticed that the foot notes for total output power on both of these pages were the same. Maybe it's just a typo.

1Front: 135W minimum RMS per channel into 8 ohms from 100Hz to 20kHz, 10% THD.
Rear: 65W minimum RMS per channel into 16 ohms from 5kHz to 20kHz, 10% THD.
Subwoofer: 400W minimum RMS into 6 ohms from 50Hz to 120Hz, 10% THD.

      Emotiva UMC 200 pre/pro

      DM601 S2 Rear Surrounds
      CC6 S2 Center.

Thanks for the info but I have already looked at both models at SharpUSA.

You can only buy these 2 models online!

The cheapest I could find the CD-G10000P is $333.00 with $70.00 Shipping.

        So around $400.00

I play the drums & I want to buy a system that has enough power to play over my drums.

        Thank You! :T

Does anybody know a store I can buy this 800 Watt Sharp Mini Component System at?

I looked at all of the big stores and they do not sell this item!

Can't help ya with the Sharp... unlikely anybody else here can either, as most have fairly advanced systems and usually don't recommend or even investigate mini-systems.

Though Sharp infrequently makes a high-end statement piece, they're not known for music sound quality... I've had occasion to pick out a mini for a friend, and one of the best makes for this on a budget is JVC (to my surprise)... the other mainstream brands (Sony, Yamaha etc) should be fine and available at your price point... onlne or in person, check Best Buy, Circuit City etc... or try one of the discount e-tailers.

Or spend a little more for better quality here: http://www.cambridgesoundworks.com/s...ud_stereosyste

But I can't see any of these keeping up in volume with a drum kit, depending on the room acoustics... try mute pads.

I would be wary of the power rating specifications of mass-market mini component systems. How about a powered speaker designed for professional use ? See here:

I ordered the Sharp CD-10000 800 Mini Component System off of Ebay brand new for $370.00!

                It's retail is $500.00

Try to find another system that cheap with 800 watts!

The Sony 520 Watt Shelf system is $400.00!

I wouldn't buy Sony ever again, because I have had trouble with every Sony CD Player I ever bought!

I think they make them to break after a year so you'll have to buy a new one!

This Sharp system that I ordered is a great system though!

You said Sharp is not known for there sound quality!

Most all big systems sound the same to me!

Wattage ratings alone aren't indicative of much of anything... and those measurements are often overstated / misleading anyway.

I've been playing the Sharp CD-G10000 Mini Component Sytem and the bass from the subwoofer will rattle the walls! It's awesome!

Is there any accessories I should buy?

Is there anyway that I can hook this up for surround sound for my tv?

Is there any accessories for that?

I know you can hook it up to the X-Box for great sound!

I hooked up the system to my Xbox & played Halo2 and it has great surround sound!

There's no way I can hook it up to TV for surround sound!

There's no accessories to hook it up to TV.

I know you can hook it up for DVD, VCR & for games!

                            Master400,

After perusing the PDF manual it seems that you only have three RCA inputs (video, right and left channels), which seems to be one of the limitations (no coaxial or optical inputs). You can however disconnect the Xbox game input and switch the TV to the game input, I believe if I read the correct manual (page 40). You will need to read the manual for specifics. Keep us posted.

                            Best regards,
