Recommendation for a Home Theatre Receiver?

I am currently trying to decide which home theatre receivers I should consider to run a five speaker system and eventually a seven speaker system. Speakers are B&W 600 S3 series. My budget for the receiver is 500 to 700. I have been leaning towards Onkyo(looks and features), but I would like to know what else is available in this price range. Thank You

What features are of most interest to you?

My personal favorite in that range is the Harmon Kardon AVR635. Can be bought at Circuit city for $699 on closeout.

The new Outlaw receiver is supposed to be awesome. Some reviews say it is the best receiver under $1500.

No specific features in particular. I am looking to run a 5.1/7.1 home theatre speaker system, a set of outdoor speakers and four speakers on my main floor. I am also running a DVD player and VCR. It should have a remote that is easy to program and understand. Thanks

I use to have a 5.1 setup of B&W 600 S3 speakers powered by a Marantz SR-6400 A/V receiver. It was gorgious for movies. Marantz are very nice for music as well.

I hear nothing but good things about HK. I have had an Onkyo receiver for about 4 years that has been a work horse for me. Outlaw has a good rep as well. In this price range it is probably more about features. I also continue to hear excellent reviews on the panasonic digital receivers and they are only about $200-300 to boot.

If you search the web you can get a great deal on the Boston Acoustics AVR7100 MSRP 2,199 you can purchase it online for $747 shipped. I bought one for my living area it sounds great.....not to mention the thing is a beast 60 pounds. I am very happy with the reciever. I believe it uses the Sherwood Newcastle R-865 electronics with a different case. I have a B&K 507 II and A Sony DA777ES, in my opinion the Boston is right up there with the B&K.

If You had 1800.00 TAS magazine just gave a good review or preview to the jvc RX-DP15B says it has a nice mid range, have not read the entire piece yet though.

Also try audio advisor they have marantz and yamaha (new one with xm but its 900.00) and a new adcom GFR-700 5.1 at 1900.00,they also carry cambridge audio recievers at 600.00 said to be great units but no xm.
