    Yamaha YSP 1000, any feedback

Because of my room layout in my mountain condo, I am thinking about the Yamaha ysp 1000 for music and videos.

I have Rotel and B&W gear at home.

I would appreciate any feddback or reviews on this product.

    Thanks

From what I read, t is what it is.... That is it's one of the better examples of a single source, "surround" unit but can't compete with a true surround system. I say unless you REALLY need to get rid of your current gear, keep the Rotel/B&W stuff

Based on the wording of his original post, it appears that he has a 2nd home(the mountain home) and wants the YSP1000 up there keeping his other system at home. It doesn't appear(to me) that he is going to get rid of it.

I have just installed a Yamaha YSP-1000 and it is incredible. My room is far from ideal, being long with doors coming off it and not rectangular and coats etc on the wall but after some manual tweaking the 5.1 DTS is amazing. You actually forget about the central speakers and the imaginary speakers and become surrounded by crisp sound. I hooked it up to a Yamaha DVD-C750 and it works just as well with music. The subwoof is even adds too much bass sometimes. Very happy with it.

Huh, interesting to here feedback on this product.
I remember reading about it and looking to see what I could get it for through work.
I wouldnt mind a simple solution for the bedroom, better then the speakers in the flimsy LCD im sure.

The YSP have had huge positve results in places like Bedrooms, and living rooms that the WAF was -848929083. Very cool piece of gear. It is also very nice if you can not retro the wires due to what ever..... The YSP then becomes a valuable piece of audio gear.
The Bitterness of poor quality last longer than the joy of low prices.
