5 Mono Blocks or One 5-Channel>

Been trying to find some thoughts behind this, and haven't heard a clear answer or opinion really.

    I'm looking at:

    Outlaw 990 + 5 2200's or
Outlaw 990 + (wait for new 5 channel)
    Rotel 1069 + 1095

Pro's I've heard is seperate transformer etc per channel,

Con's cabling, and smaller power supply.

    Thanks for your thoughts!

I will actually provide another option, the Rotel 1077 digital amp. I am unaware of the Rotel 1069 (1068?). I would also have logistic considerations with the monoblocks.
The best thing to do is to take a listen, before you invest. I am sure others will chime in.

    Just my quick thoughts,

Well depending on whether you prefer Outlaw or Rotel's "sound" I would think if you have the space and money, not to mention the appropriate power capabilities in your home, that the 5 monoblocks should offer better performance. At least 5 Outlaw monoblocks should outperform an Outlaw 5-ch amp IMO. Whether it outperforms a 1095 or 5 Rotel monoblocks would have to be compared IMO though 3 monoblocks for your mains/centre and a 2ch amp for your surrounds would be plenty.

Thanks. Yeah, sorry, meant the 1068. Listening would be a great idea, however that's not really an option with Outlaw products.

          Pre/Pro- Rotel, Outlaw 990

          Hi everybody,

I'm considering a pre-amp for my RB 1090 and RMB 1095. I am looking at Rotel RSP 1068 (used) or an Outlaw 990. I would say around 1100 bucks or under would suffice for the moment.

I considered the RSP 1069 but it is very expensive and has many issues that...

I'm in the process of rebuilding my audio system from the ground up. I don't have unlimited funds, but at the same time I can spend a reasonable amount of money, I'm not going to spend $20,000 for a new system, but I'll spend several thousand. I enjoy movies and need a good set up for HT. But I also...

Which BluRay Player with Outlaw 990 Preamp?
          by ClosetSciFiGeek
Just bought an Outlaw 990 Preamp. It does NOT decode the two latest codecs. I am going to use the 7.1 Analog Ouputs on a BluRay player. Which player would be best for this. My current player only has 5.1 outputs.

          Outlaw monblocks OR Rotel 1095

It may sound a very stupid qs. to knowledgeable people here but to a novice like me it’s a big qs.

Separates are supposed to be better, am I right ?

If that’s correct then don’t you think going with 5 Outlaw mono blocks rather than Rotel-1095 will be a better choice....

          Outlaw and B&W
          by Adespota
Hi there. I am looking at HT components and have pretty much decided on the B&W 704 floorstanding speakers for fronts and bookshelves for rears.

However, I am considering the Outlaw 990 receiver or the Anthem AVM (30 or 40) to drive this and wanted to hear back from others who have...
