    Magnetic Interference

What would be called a safe distance between TV and speaker(non-shielded). I know that most center and front spks are magnetically shielded but the SUB isnt. So lets say for a CRT TV on a stand and if you need to keep the SUB on the floor near the TV, what would be a safe distance to place it ????.

Ah! another question that comes to my mind is, how can the Magnetic force of the speakers damage a TV or can it also damage the other devices like the AMP or the DVD or interference in cables ????
Need is the mother of all Inventions.....I am needy

Well, just one story I feel compelled to tell:

I bought a new 36" Sony Wega TV and Klipsch C-6 center channel speaker at the same time a few years ago, and set the center channel on top of the TV. Even though the speaker's shielded, it created a slight but noticeable visual distortion on the screen. After a few days, the screen actually adjusted, "healed", and it went away.

Well, we're safe for now. Thank goodness we're in a bowling alley.

      Magnetic Shielding

Magnetic shielding is a technique used in loudspeaker design to prevent the magnetic field generated by the driver's magnet from interfering with nearby electronic devices, particularly CRT (Cathode Ray Tube) displays. When a loudspeaker's magnet is positioned close to a CRT screen, it can distort the image by deflecting the electron beams in the CRT, causing color shifts and geometric distortions. The concept of magnetic shielding was developed to address this issue...

      Inductance

Inductance is an essential electrical property that arises in conductors and coils due to the presence of magnetic fields. It is one of the key elements in electrical circuits, along with resistance and capacitance, and plays a significant role in various electronic and electromechanical systems, including loudspeakers.

Definition and Symbol: Inductance, denoted by the symbol "L," is a measure of an electrical component's ability to store energy in

      Adire DIY Kits
      by David R.
Eduardo asked me to post some pictures of the Adire DIY kits that I built and also my opinion of them.

We will start with Construction.. The basic construction of them is very easy.. As always the finish you use can make the project more difficult. If you want to see a how-to of how...

Shielding A Seas CA18RLY Woofer, Measurements
      by Winter
Just in case anyone is interested, listed below is some test information on shielding a Seas CA18RLY. I used Woofer Tester 2 to measure the Fs and Qts parameters. A 27" CRT television with a blue screen (no input signal) was used to judge magnetic interference. When a bucking magnet is placed...

May magnetic field of the B&W 685s give damage to dvd recorders?
      by AwArEnEsS
I have a problem which I haven't been able to solve yet.About two weeks ago,I put one of the B&W 685's on a shelf, very close to the dvd recorders and satellite receivers.685 was not connected to the receiver(amplificator). After a while in the same day,the satellite receiver started getting locked.Then...
