Any good methods for breaking in new speakers

Can anyone offer their suggestions on how to break-in new speakers?
Can't really play pink noise at blistering levels from 9-5 since my wife and kids are a home so any other methods out there are appreciated.

Should I set all speakers to Large for now to experience the full tonal range?
Sell crazy someplace else, we're all stocked up here.

Gordon, I'd definitely set the speakers to large for the break-in period. Not being able to turn up the volume will just cause the break-in period to take a little longer. Try some classical selections as they tend to run the full spectrum of sonics - think bass cellos up to piccolos. Oh, find a CD that has organ music if you want to really get the bass module working.

Now if you are feeling silly, I read somewhere that for a stereo-pair you can reverse the polarity on one speaker and point them at each other. I've never tried it but it sounds fun, anyway! :

I'm quite getting the benefit of the voodoo that it might do (face-to-face is probably just for cancellation purposes to cut down on the noise right?)

Bam, that CD sounds interesting :T I'll be right over :

              CD Player requires breakin?
              by akhter
Or am I just imagining things (quite possible).

Last week I got an Arcam CD73T after comparing it with the Arcam CD192/Linn Genki/Naim CD5x, and found the entry-level arcam to be the best value by a long-shot. All the other players were similarly priced ($1700-1900), and the Arcam gave...

Listening fatigue with the new 804S’s?
              by RebelMan
I went to my local B&W dealer today and spent about an hour or so listening to the new 805Ss and 804Ss. I concluded that the 804Ss are worth the difference in price and I decided to make them a part of a new home entertainment system I am building. But, just for kicks, I wanted to know what another...

              Hi guys;

When I first got my RCD-1072 I felt it sounded very harsh at the beginning and much better and warm in a week or so after several hours of play. That was all my certain perception. However, at another forum I participate, several guys argue against the concept of "Break...

Breaking with modern conventions - a highly musical 2-way system using an 8" woofer
              by theSven
              By Jon Hancock

This article will describe the fruits of my efforts to build a moderate sized speaker which might be moderately above average in performance for a basic two-way system. I desired a speaker like this both for my own use in secondary systems, and to fill a need for some friends, who desired fairly full range response (i.e., “it’s gotta have good bass”). Also, though I have access to a good wood shop, many potential DIY enthusiasts may not, so I hoped to use a modified...
