Laurence Juber Guitar Noir

Caught a concert in Mammoth Lakes Saturday with LJ and his trio. He played nearly all the songs on the DVD Audio I bought during the 2+ hour show. He autographed CDs and DVDs during a break and even talked about the recording (Grammy nominated). He played Little Wing and Johny B. Good songs that weren't on the album. Once played lead guitar with McCartney's Wings and is a premier finger style player on a variety of genres. Plays a custom Martin mostly and a Gibson semi-hollow body as well as a vintage Telecaster.

Another post here in the Guide reminded me of a CD I have that I've enjoyed for years, but most people would never have heard of. I went to a big concert at the famous Red Rocks ampitheater in Denver, Colorado the summer of 1992 (right before my senior year of high school) that had about 6 excellent...

Cash-strapped King Of Pop Michael Jackson may be forced to unload his share of pop's most treasured jewels -- the Beatles' song catalogue.

Jackson scooped away the rights to the Beatles' song publishing in 1985 from pal Paul McCartney, who had hoped to buy back the rights to his own...

The Ice Harvest is film noir
by George Bellefontaine
I really love those great b&w film noir movies from the 40s and early 50s and The Ice Harvest fits right into that category, only it is film noir in color. It stars John Cusack as a seedy lawyer ( he represents the mob, among other things) and Billy Bob Thornton as a lowlife who teams up with Cusack...

His so called famous strat from Dark Side of the Moon and more is supposed to have been played with a particular Fender Stratacaster. He even had to buy the case separate for 175,000!

For Gilmore, it was all for charity, he said he never was one much for collecting guitars. But who knows,...
