YARDBIRDS IN BIRDLAND NEWEST RELEASE IN OVER 35 YEARS !

This new release absolutly SMOKES !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! With Jim McCarty & Chris Dreja still involved the sound is unmistakably YARDBIRDS. With surprise appearences from 10 artists (yes Jeff Beck is one of them) I bought this three days ago at Borders in Puyallup & havent looked back since. Half are Rereleases of Classic Material & Half is Brand New Material. If you are a YARDBIRDS fan this should be a pleasent surprise. ;b>'>

Went over to Amazon to hear some clips. That new singer does sound an awful lot like Keith Relf. Are the remakes expanded versions of what they did before or pretty much duplicates with an added touch here or three? A pretty dang good group of guest guitarists though.

Keith: The remakes are reasonably close to the originals nothing sounds out of place here however they do alter them a little. The recording on this disc is outstanding.

For my money, that marks the point where rock'n'roll became ROCK.

When virtuosity and imagination collided at the speed of light.

And when we were blessed with the arrival of Jeff Beck (who is currently active and doing the best stuff of his career).

Guess I need to pick up Birdland, if only to get the lone Beck track.

I mis-placed my original CD of BOS so I can't do a comparison. The new one SEEMS to sound a bit better, but that's a very subjective comment. YMMV.
