Thanks, Bill. I couldn't read the WSJ article, as I refuse to sign up for a subscription just to read the news. But I just ordered the Ellington album on SACD as a blind purchase. High hopes for it.

Not sure what's going on, but I can't get it to play in my universal disc player. When I put it in, the front panel says "NO MULTICHANNEL AUDIO" and doesn't respond to any commands to play or anything. Not even any option to choose the CD layer. I'm guessing has something to do with being (AFAIK) my first mono SACD. I can still try out the CD in a different player.

Aha... figured out a setting in my player, and took a listen to the SACD layer. I like. Smooth and classic. Got to listen to my "Lee Morgan - the Sidewinder" SACD too. Good stuff.

The 2 cd set has a slew of artist from Duke Ellington to Sarah...-

I've heard this artist a few times on the radio, but never sat down to give a good listen to.
Keiko Matsui is breathtaking. Her outstanding skill as a keyboardist, is only surpassed by her talent for mixing jazz and new age sounds. I found myself really...-

by JonMarshThis is just a post about a couple of disks I'm really enjoying lately, not recent releases, but as I've found, undiscovered by most of my friends, and as they have found, worth giving a spin. I've always had a certain fondness for women who play jazz (probably started with a thing I had for a keyboard...-

I recently found out about internet radio. As a big fan of jazz and particularly smooth jazz, the Smooth Jazz radio on SKY.fm is great. I first heard it this past weekend with a live show broadcasting live...-

In all things in life, we must have balance. Music is no different. When I'm not in that laid back mood, something that assults the senses are in order.
This DVD is one that I use to help get me through those periods. If you like rap that has clear lyrics and light...-
