    Your favorite riff......

    Hi all,

Here's a fun one - list your top five favorite riffs...... or the ones that jump into your mind right now!

Here are mine (that I've thought of just now), in no particular order.....

    Heartbreaker - Led Zeppelin

    Baba O'Riley - The Who

    Ace Of Spades - Motorhead

Eight Miles High - The Byrds

Jumpin Jack Flash - Rolling Stones

I could go on all day with this one......
    Vincent.

            Led Zeppelin-Nobody's Fault But Mine

                Very nice, Andrew!

All very good selections :-y The Hiss is very reminiscent of that late 60's/early 70's metal. On that note:

                Please,Mr. Fantasy-Traffic(vocal riffs,harmonica riffs , etc.)
                Iron Butterfly-In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida
                Mountain-Mississippi Queen
                Cream-Sunshine Of Your Love
Black Sabbath-N.I.B.-(Maybe the bass line of a generation.)

Didn't really like Kid Rock for a while (not a rap fan at all) , but when forced to listen to it discovered a very talented band backing him up. Gonna have to post another list for Robin Trower's Bridge Of Sighs and my new all time favorite-She Hates Me. I usually have to really hunt for new stuff I like. Been concentrating on Patricia Barber , Natalie Merchant , and recently , Diana Krall. Can you tell my speaker/amp combo likes to hear the ladies sing!? It's fairly kind to guitars , too. :dudes: If you have any more I'm open to suggestions.

Did you actually download some HISS ! (Nice)

                  Try "Spoon"
the song to try first is "Two Sides Of Monsieur Valentine" or just go crazy and buy the disc "Gimme fiction" which is my favorite disc of last year!

Also try any Stephen Malkmus disc (I love them all)

Also download just the song: (band) Sloan ~ (Song) if it feels good do it

Also try: Cockteau Twins album "Four Calander cafe"

                  more later:

Oh yeah , gotta go with the BB King thing! Wkhanna and I have to go get an Iron City and turn the music up too loud..... Listening to Jackson , Mississippi again to make sure it isn't just "new guitar euphoria" that made me list it. It ain't. If you like southernmetalelectricblueshardcoreguitar , it's a screamin' tune.

Alaric, are we related? You pegged three of mine:

                            Stranglehold - Ted Nugent
Smoke On The Water - Deep Purple
                            Mississippi Queen - Mountain

                            Here's a few more:

Bridge Of Sighs - Robin Trower
Blues For Salvador - Carlos Santana
I Cheat The Hangman - The Doobie Brothers
                            Magic Man - Heart
                            .

Very good tune(whole album is great). David , we may be related . Dreamboat Annie is one of my all time favorite albums. Also very well produced. As much as I like vinyl I love that CD. Also have some Uncle Ted on vinyl , from way back. Have you heard Sam Kinnison's 'Mississippi Queen'? The whole Jessica Hahn story , from a "reformed" evangelist.
