    New discoveries

    Is anyone else here discovered CDBABY? It's BRILLIANT and in fact I do most of my music shopping here now. You can search in a number of ways for music - but my tried and tested formula is to typw in the name of a band you like and let cdbaby match you up with somehting similar.

          Hi there,

          I was knocked out by CDBABY since the moment I discovered the site. I LOVE the fact that so many artists are taking responsibilty for their own music production and getting their music out there. In these days of homogenised musicial nonsense, it's wonderful to have some alternative. I know that there's a fair amount of old rot on the CDBABY site but there's more good than bad and you can always sample the mp3s before you buy anything.

          Likewise, http://www.CDWOW.com/unsigned has some wonderful stuff but the site isn't as user friendly and you need to visit the artist's homwpage to hear samples.

              Over Easter six of us headed off to Australia for the 19th Byron Bay East Coast Blues & Roots Music Festival. I went last year too.

              Byron Bay is a beautiful little town with a lovely beach and plenty of good restaurants and bars which we made good use of when not attending the festival....

              We're big Prince fans and I've found his Hit I and II, plus Musicology to be excellent reference material.

              They easily are equal to any SACD or DVD-A I've heard.

              He does all his own mastering, engineering, etc and it really shows. Even if your not a fan its impossible...
