    Major buzz/hum on vinyl

I don't know why but this buzzing coming out of my DUAL is driving me
I have grounded to my Rotel...then tried directly into my power supply..with or without tinfoil it just won't go
    What's up :?:

You're going to have to explain your equipment hookup a bit better - interconnections, preamp?, power amp etc.
What power supply are you talking about here.
      Tinfoil? :??

Hi there guys...Gotta work on my specifics ops:

So my gear is : lp player is a DUAL with naturally the analog cables and one ground.

My integrated amp is : Rotel RA 840BX with a phono input. The DUAL can be grounded to this.

When I say tin foil...someone told me to rap my ground with foil and then ground it....I thought that was  also but anyway...

Also I have tried taking the ground wire from my DUAL and plugging right into my power bar....I was told that that was a really good ground :?

Thanks for the replies and I hope now this is a little better!!!

Did the hum manifest itself after any changes to the system or was everthing normal and then it began to hum for no apparent reason?
Does the ROTEL have a three prong AC cord?

Tracking hum is usually a deliberate elimination of all components except the bare essentials at which point no hum is created - and then slowly adding components until the culprit is revealed.

You must strip your integrated amp of all inputs including the DUAL and ensure that the integrated amp and speakers alone do not produce any hum?

If no, then AC plug the DUAL into the same power bar or receptacle as the ROTEL and do not hook up the separate ground wire from the DUAL, and with one analog cable from the DUAL connected to the ROTEL phono input see if it hums or not? If no, add the second analog cable and see if it hums or not? If no, add the separate ground wire.

          That's a start.

            Hi Brucek!

You are so right..it happened as I added stuff on come to think of it. Problem being is that while I was adding on I wasn't listen to the LP.

I guess I will try one piece at a time

            Fantastic advice

            Thanks...

                hey Dave

                Congrats by the way

                The answer is no.
I think what I have to do (check out my setup in Gallery..if you will)is remove it from where it is...I think the T.V. is interfering with the LP player...cause when the t.v is shut off it is better..not perfect...but better. What do you think?

hey and thanks for checking into this! You da man!

                take care bud!

I am new here and am desperate. I have posted on polkforums and avsforums that I have been using to get assistance and i am still stuck with this parasound dilemma.

HOW to eliminate Buzz/Hum (it works!)
                  by Locutus2k
Ok, here i am. I'VE FOUND A SOLUTION FOR THE INFAMOUS 1095 (and other amps) BUZZ/HUM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
First of all get a cheated plug and connect the amp. Everything should be dead silent.
Second thing: get a normal plug and cut off the phase pins, just leave the ground pin ONLY. Now connect...

I've owned my RSP-1068 since July of 2004. My boss and I purchased units at the same time from the same dealer. In general I love it. I paired it with an ATI 1806 Amplifier and everything has been great until just before Christmas when I first noticed a buzzing sound. I say buzz, because I liken...

I've lived with this for a while, but thought I'd post for suggestons. My set-up is a C-2 Pre/pro, Marantz SA-11S1 SACD player connected via balanced inputs, a Denon DVD 5910 connected via RCA inputs or coax. My main amp is a Pass Labs X-250 and front speakers are Revel Ultima Studios.

Since adding a RMB 1095 to my system,I have had the buzz.I know that all amps give off a little something and that nothing is completely quiet. But my buzz seemed to be louder at times thereby more noticable and annoying.I have tried seperating power cables from interconnects,I use high grade,sheilded...
