Hello everyone, I've been looking for a good carousel cd or dvd player to replace my older onkyo. For the wife it is important that it match the preamp (anthem avm20)which is silver. So far I have only found the rotel rcd 1055 as an option. Any suggestions on some other players that meet this criteria? :?:

For DVD players there's a couple to choose from as silver is becoming more popular (unfortunatly IMO) For CD players that Rotel is a great choice as it will sound very smooth for a multi disc player.

I think Sony is releasing (or has released), in silver, a new dvp-cx777ES 400-disc carousel that will play dvd-v, cds, mp3, sacd, etc.; the only thing it won't do is dvd-a. I believe the msrp in US is $900jpiscitello@ameritech.netComment

Well, wasn't it this year 30 years ago that CD players first became available as a sort of mass market item? How many of you bought one of these (like me) and figured you were at the leading edge of modern music reproduction?

I can see that a lot of people are raving about silver digital interconnect and some even claim that CD sounds better with this miracle digital interconnect than using the analog output from your CD/DVD player. Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't DAC more likely to dictate the sound from your CD player... -
I'm in search of player for my 2 channel setup. I'm currently running an RC 1070 pre (next on the upgrade list) w/ an RM 1080 amp w/ 805's.
