    And yet another--RIP Glen Frey

What a start to the year. Yikes.:E

My wife is especially sad about Glenn Frey (the Eagles are her all-time favourite band). I remember my parents mourning musical greats of their generation and it seemed it would be a long time before I experienced the same kind of thing--I guess a long time has passed.

Then you might consider buying this Blu-ray for her if you don't have it already. The highlight for me is Disc 3 which is a beautifully restored recording of The Eagles in concert in 1977. The first two discs are documentaries about the band. Unfortunately Glenn doesn't come across as a particularly nice person, which doesn't worry me because his body of work is more important.

          I didn't know that Bill.

In contrast, our recently departed friend David Bowie was allegedly a damn fine fellow.

              Eagles New CD?
              by Foxman
Just curious if anyone here has picked up the new Eagles CD and what your thoughts were of it.

FYI: If you didn't know, it is only available at Sam's club or Walmart.

The title is Long road out of Eden and is a 2 disk set.

Here is a copy and paste of a review...

              by Bing Fung

I just watched and listened to this last night. It has a lot of good tracks and performances. Of particular note is "Boys of Summer" and "Sunset Grill", I found those songs to be done particularly well. I actually had to play those tracks a few times afterward...

Eagles Hell Freezez Over - DVD Video
              by Adz
I have found that the music on DVD Videos is pretty weak (i.e, doesn't sound very good) even if recorded in 5.1. Then I bought James Taylor Live at the Beacon Theatre and was amazed at the sound!!

Here is my question. I heard the "Eagles Hell Freezes Over" sounds pretty good...
