Lemmy , lead singer , frontman , and larger than life personality of the band Motorhead , died after a short battle with cancer. I saw Motorhead in concert and his performance was as loud and to the point as their music. A sad day for the older metalheads among us and a great loss to an already small genre. He will be missed. http://www.theguardian.com/music/201...le-with-cancer

i never was drawn to the metal side, however i certainly commiserate with you on how, as we reach this time in our lives, those who created special memories in our past begin to pass at an uncomfortably increasing pace.- Bottom

Whole Lotta Truth in that. I don't listen to metal at the volume or with the frequency I did in my youth , but I went to a LOT of concerts and never alone , so I have memories swirling around many artists of the 70s and 80s. It's like with each passing , a little piece of my life is really gone now. I know I can't recapture past moments , but with their deaths I lose the possibility. It's a unique loss every time. The only thing worse than getting old is not.
Losing the people who were with me through so many events in my life is a little like losing a friend.Lee
