Pioneer made a speaker during the 70's and 80's known as CS99A. It weighed about 100 lbs. and was a 6 speaker 5 way design. It used a 15 inch woofer and a horn tweeter and handled 100 watts. I always was amazed at the sound they produced. I was never able to afford a pair back them but they were what I always compared speakers against.
I am wanting to build a set of 3 way Dayton RS speakers. The designs I am looking at are 1. Veritas (Wayne J design on the PE site and using one of his alternate tweeter designs), 2. Khanspires (on this site using CJD's crossover), 3. WMTW Center & TMWW Mains (on this site using CJD's crossover), and 4. The large 3 way MTMWW (on this site using CJD's crossover).
What can I expect from one of these designs above? I am leaning towards design #4 above. Does anyone have experience with the Pioneer CS99A and with the new designs to relate them to me.
Thanks for your help and time.
