Someone suggested replacing a pair of 5V4 recs in a Cary amp with the Weber Copper Caps which is a solid state version of the 5V4. Has anyone tried it and if you have, how did it affect the sound and was it reliable? Thanks.

OK. I think I'm good with my front end, CD Player and Preamp both Tube.
The question now is weather I should get a SS or Tube amp. I currently
have an old 100W Rotel SS amp, that I want to replace.

Are there any designs on here that are proven winners for low output? This will be the second sub in the room and be used mainly for 40hz and below. I am looking for a design that will extend below 20hz for theater use. I have 2 subs in my room now, 1 in front and 1 in the rear. I will add this one...
