    Paradigm Studio 100's V2???

    hello all,

i'm a studio 100s v2 owner. my birthday is may 17 and it's time to treat myself to something. has anyone upgraded from the v2 to the v4 or v5?
is there a difference $$ in the sound. a rotel rsp-1068 proccessor & rmb-1075amp is running the v2. i'm quite happy with what i have but the upgrade bug is bitting me.

Sorry, had to get that in early before Bill (aka Wkhanna) did. ops:

I don't own Paradigm speakers but I'd imagine their upgraded models would sound better. There's no accounting for personal taste though, and always best to audition before you buy. Or, buy from a store that has a 30 day return policy. Or did you mean get your speakers upgraded by the factory. I know I'm not much help. Maybe, someone who has experience with the other models will chime in.

Can you afford to treat yourself to a nice pair of Signature S8?

I have the Studio 60 v.3 , and when I auditioned the v.4 I thought they were way off the mark. The v.4 Paradigms have sounded harsh to the point of grating , to me. This was with McIntosh and Marantz Reference Series amplification and source components , and I drive mine with Marantz , so it seemed a decent comparison.
I agree with dknightd's thinking. Can you swing a pair of Signatures?

I can recall last summer when I was trying to decide on the speakers I would buy.
Of the two stores that carried the Klipsh speakers, neither sounded good. Some people love them but they are quite harsh and had to be turned up so loud to reveal detail.
They guys in the store loved them lol.

I tried Monitor Audio and found them the best for the buck what they give you.

I tried some low end Paradigm and considered them inbetweet the Klipsh and the Monitor Audio. As for the Sig series I would imagine would be quite nice if you can go that high.

              Thanks All,

If I chase the Signatures then I'll have to upgrade the amp to the 1095. i'm going to "Choose my Pain" on this. I'm not going to audition any new speakers. Sometime newer isn't better.

Johnloudb, thanks for the birthday shout out!!!
