A CD company that really cares!

Check out the message that accompanied the order confirmation from CD Baby (a supplier of independent music)...

Your CD has been gently taken from our CD Baby shelves with sterilized contamination-free gloves and placed onto a satin pillow.

A team of 50 employees inspected your CD and polished it to make sure it was in the best possible condition before mailing.

Our packing specialist from Japan lit a candle and a hush fell over the crowd as he put your CD into the finest gold-lined box that money can buy.

We all had a wonderful celebration afterwards and the whole party marched down the street to the post office where the entire town of Portland waved "Bon Voyage!" to your package, on its way to you, in our private CD Baby jet on this day, Tuesday, January 13th.

I hope you had a wonderful time shopping at CD Baby. We sure did.

Your picture is on our wall as "Customer of the Year." We're all exhausted but can't wait for you to come back to CDBABY.COM!!

Thank you, thank you, thank you!

    Sigh...

Very funny. Never heard of this company, but will check them out.

EDIT: Huh... just did. Looks like all small-time bands, so I wouldn't know who to check out, unfortunately!

Sometimes you just got to get off :conveyer: and try something new. Stretch your boundaries!!! I listened to a few clips of some the classical stuff, but haven't found anything I'd want to buy, yet. Must be some good independant stuff out there.

I think this is the point in music!! You always have to try new things... Otherwise there would never be made the decade of 60's or 80's... All the revolutions have began from the searching of the new! It is like the gift!! You never know what's inside, but you accept it... This is the magic of music (generally of life)...

                  Absolutely!

That's the real benefit of CD Baby... yeah, the presentation is charming, but there is a TON of under-the-radar music available there... and what's more, it is scrutinized, organized into many genres, compared to familiar artists, and with several samples to listen to for virtually every title.

Downloads and discs... decent pricing... very folksy.

                  Go off-road!

I liked the samples of this http://cdbaby.com/cd/kingkarma2 , and just poked around in genres I'm interested in. Good stuff , just gotta find it. Type a band/artist you like into the search engine , and it tries to find "similar" stuff. I could waste a lot of time there...

Hi, so I am in the market for some new floorstanders as an upgrade to my recently sold 805S. I have already budgeted money for either the 804S or 803S. While auditioning both I also listened to some other speakers, just to make sure I truly wanted to stay with B&W. Of course there are many other...

Hi there. Most people on this board seem to be interested in building speaker enclosures from raw MDF or plywood, whether the designs are their own or those of more experienced designers on the forum. I am going to try posting a hack to a commonly available commercial speaker. Not all of us have the...
