Music on Blu-ray players?

Hi,
I am looking at future ht/audio upgrades. I have a nachamichi a/v recvr and nachamichi dvd player that is also great for playing cd's. Do the blu-ray units play music well? Thanks for any input.

They definitely all play CD's. As far as how well, you'd have to ask owners of each model. I have a PS3, and it plays CD's very well--I stream over HDMI. It also rips CD's to the PS3 hard drive, creating a music database.

Yes the PS3 does a fine job with Cd's

But when you play something like the new
David Mathews Blu-ray in 5.1 uncompressed PCM
we finaly have a audio format that reaches a new
level, with open,dynamic, natural soundstage.

The new David Gilmour Blu-ray is also amazing
in 5.1 PCM..

i agree, the PS3 is an excellant CD player and the 80 gig ver even upsamples the output. Ive found it to be on par with my cambridge audio azur v2. ripped to ATRAC 352 isint bad either.
