Just getting into this genre, can anybody recommend some well recorded albums? I want to hear some wailing guitars :-)

Gene Harris and Lightnin Hopkins
Gene is a great blues pianist. Lightnin is a singing plucking type guy. The sound quality for many of their recordings is extremely good and the content is pretty good as well. If you search thru Amazon music you can find some great chealies there. Search on artist and spell the names exactly as given. Each has about 100 CD's as I recall. Listen to the sound on your computer. You can easily detect the clarity on some Lightnin cd's and some sound hollow.- Bottom

BB King Live at the Regal on MFSL is a pretty good one.
Johnny Johnson, Blue hand Johnnie is also good (but is more a honky tonk blues)
Hubert Sumlin, I Know You, is a nicely recorded piece of classic blues.
Lots of good stuff out there. . . depends what kind of blues you like- Bottom

If you've got a vinyl set-up , almost everything Led Zeppelin did qualifies. If you want the roots of the Blues , Robert Johnson is fantastic , but the recordings are pretty rough.Lee

by BobThis post is very premature but, I need a break from what I was doing.
I set up a little system a year ago that I could easily pack and move to New Orleans and now Wilmington N.C. My intent was always to use it as some kind of secondary system whenever we fully settled down.
