Fast Attack of a tweeter- Precise reproduction of alot of simultaneous high frequency sound(thats what I thought it meant)
Colouration- The source (eg. CD player), the pre or Amp, or the speakers add their own sound to the sound that was recorded on the CD. Either unintentionally or they are made to sound that way. -RussRuss- Bottom

Attack (in simple terms) is the "beginning" of a sound, like what you hear as a string is plucked or as a cymbal is struck... think of it as the opposite of "decay" or release, which is what you hear as the note fades or dies out. Using the terms "Fast" attack, I would guess is an attempt to suggest that a certain component has a sense of immediacy, or "speed" about the way it replays sounds. Sometimes also referred to as "snap" to suggest the same quality.
"Colouration" is any deviation from faithful (or accurate) reproduction of the original signal. So for instance, a speaker system with a "warm" sound might boost mid bass information to produce the subjective sense of "warmth" and fullness not necessarily contained on the recording, thereby "colouring" the sound. As Russ L suggests, perhaps intentionally (as in it's designed to sound that way) or because of other influences (poor placement, room modes, etc.).- Bottom

"empire" is my favorite of the original trilogy but to be completely honest i don't think i've seen any star wars movie (including episode 1) more than twice. in fact, the second time i saw episode 1 was just the other...-

by mazurekAnyone remember what the physical meaning of third harmonic distortion is? For example, I believe, second harmonic is due to different amplitude gains on the top and bottom half of the waveform. I'm trying to figure out why a piece of electronic equipment has negligible (<100dB) distortion of any...-

The action is fast and the sound is furious, but don't look for good acting or a story. The only exception is Vin Deisel, who has a commanding presence whenever he's on screen. This guy needs a new agent. He deserves better material than this.
Now for all you people who were into drag racing in...-

by fvoellingHi,
It seems that my 1056 "loses" the audio signal when I fast-forward too much/long (?) on the DVD player (Zenith DVB-318 ). The audio connection is optical, mode was DTS (haven't tried it with DD).
Switching to another video input and then back to the one for...-
