Sweet... I was going to mention on here sometime, that maybe it's just me and a totally subconscious thing, but it's like my SVS subs just get better and better with time, stronger and stronger with bass.

Another owner for SVS here(12ISD/V, pretty much the same as PCi20-39 equivalent), you will definitely enjoy the sub!
Just do not turn it all the way up and let it warm up a little. That's what it happened to me because I didn't really hear anything at the beginning and it started to crack the house after running for like half an hour and kept turning it down til I hit 1/3 or so :B

I have the PC+ 20-39 and it's an amazing sub... It's completely silent, but it will move wall for what it is and how much it was. I've yet to even ever have to push the sub. It's not the absolute best for music, but I don't use a sub for music... HT wise though, it's absolutely stunning how deep it can get.

Plus it's definitely a conversation piece as everyone always asks what the heck it is.

All I can say is WOW...This thing shakes the pictures on the walls. I have it turned about about 3/8 of the way and I couldn't even imagine taking it higher....Tested it with Matrix, Pearl Harbor, Gladiator, Atlantis, Episodes I-III, and Texas Chainsaw Massacre(the new one) and I'm completely amazed. It's like watching these for the first time....You can feel the bass!!! It seems as though my receiver(Marantz sr8600) doesn't do a good job of bass when listening to music in stereo. I can barely hear the sub, but I think it has more to do with me running the music from my ipod. I changed the speaker settings to small and it made a little difference, but I still couldn't "feel" the bass like I could if I was running a DVD.

Music signals seldom hit the depths of movie soundtracks, with the exception of pipe organ music or newer electronica music... so the 'feel' factor won't be there for music.

But set up properly, your sub should replicate what bass is available on whaterver music you choose, and enhance the overall soundfield considerably... some recordings have more than others, obviously... don't expect to be physically shaken as with Gladiator.

Listening via iPod doesn't help at all... it's not the iPod -- it's the lossy, downloaded music... if you can save lossless music files, do so.

Without music to decorate it, time is just a bunch of boring

If I'm ripping from CDs, I ussually do use the 'lossless' feature, but a lot of the stuff I have on my iPod are from .mp3s(ussually ripped @ 192kbs)...thanks for the info.

Congrats on the new sub. I have had the same model sub for a tad over 3 years and it has never let me down and always impressed my friends and family.
