    Are serial dacs or digitally controlled analog volume controls a reliable high grade way to control the volume unlike my Denon?


    The volume control on my year old Denon reciever is getting worn out.
    It seems to change volume in larger increments when using the remote.
    In the future I would like to get a nice integrated and there are a few different kinds of volume controls within those units.

      I recently replaced a Yamaha integrated amp (DSP-A1) with a Rotel RSP-1066 and RMB-1095. I have very efficient speakers (Klipsch).

      With the Yamaha, I had the volume up about 50%...
