Could denon dvd-2200 have better DAC to MusicHall CD25?

    Hi,
I am looking at the spec of Music Hall CD25 . It has Burr-Brown 1732 24-bit/96kHz DAC.

    Denon dvd-2200 has Burr-Brown 24-bit, 192-kHz DSD-1791 Audio DACs

Are these DACs from the same company? and Denon has 1791 while Music Hall has 1732 (burr-brown). I assume the larger number is better. So, does this mean DAC in Denon is better than Music Hall? These number may mean anything else that i do not know.

    thanks.

If I'm not mistaken, the 192KHz is for DVD audio only.

Is the MH CD25 a DVD-A player? If not, I'm willing to bet the Music hall is a better sounding CD player. DACs are only one component of the sound path.

Well, higher chip designations do not necessarily mean better or newer.

While the DAC may be better, I reckon a company like Music Hall puts in better parts in the analog output stage. For transports, maybe they're even. MH probably outsources theirs.

The 2200 and 2900 both have high-end DACs but there's a whole cottage industry modding the other stages in these players to get "audiophile" performance.
