I like the thought of wood speaker cones, but how will they sound? Or is this another looks nice but thats it.

I listened to this a few weeks at Good Guys. Pretty cool looking speakers. It sounded really good for a small system.

I've read a couple of reviews which commented that they lived up to the hype. Would very much consider buying the JVC system if I had a small room which was in need of sound.

Doesn't Grado's top-of-the-line headphone use a wood chamber? I'm not sure of the exact correlation of the headphone units to these drivers, but I'd like to hear them.

The only thing I'd get this JVC system for is if I were an executive at some big company and I needed a system to put on my desk together with a 15" TFT monitor or something.
You can't get any decent volume out of this thing at distances over 1m, so it's pretty useless for watching DVD (yes it has a DVD player built in) unless you're sitting on top of it.
I guess it sounds OK for what it is but it's not very useable.
          I believe it's a 3" driver, so it's really small.

I've seen a fair bit of discussion on this board about the HD2K and thought that I would drop a subjective opinion in for everyone to absorb. I'm pretty technical, and chose the HD2K for a number of reasons my head worked out. (A) It's 3-chip DILA system offers some pretty obvious immediate benefits...

Upgrading projector to 4K with JVC RS2100
            by theSven
The time had finally come to upgrade the projector in the theater to 4K. I have a friend that uses JVC in the area and having seen many movies on his JVC I loved the vivid colors and the blacks. I was using a second hand Sony VPL-VW50 (White Pearl) since 2013 and it did great for 1080P. The only thing...

            by Brandon B
JVC reps dropped by work and showed us their new oh-so-spiffy PJ today.

PJ is a full hidef (1920x1080) DILA with 500 lumens and 2000:1 CR. Projector "head" has only a DVI input which accepts only 1080p @ 50 or 60Hz. Is intended to be packaged with an offboard faroudjia scaler/input...
