I have been listening to my Statements with my new DAC and had a weird thing happen today.
I have listened to about 4-5 CDs with the new DAC so far.
Today, I put in a CD "Tori Amos: Boys for Pele" and when I pressed play the speakers made this kind of monotone beep sound. It lasted maybe half to three-quarters of a second. On a scale of 1 to 10 its loudness was probably a 7.
I ejected and reinserted the CD 2-3 times and it never happened again. I have never heard this beep any other time listening to this or any other CD previously.
The beep definitely sounded like something electronically produced. Not like distortion or any sort of between-the-tracks type noise.
Anybody ever experience something like this before? Or, have any idea of what that might be?
Again, my system is:
Oppo (PCM using digital attenuation) -> DAC -> Amp -> Statements
