First, a little background...
In another thread, Neo Dan complained that there had been no new designs lately. He has helped quite a few builders, so his complaint shouldn't be taken lightly. So, even though it is not quite ready yet, I'm posting up my design for review and forum use. I was planning to build this and post a build thread, then my circumstances took a change for the worse and I have had to put it off for a while. I was going to wait, but Neo Dan's point was well founded. So, here it is.
Now, on to the show...
This is a slot port design for the Shiva-X2 based on Neo Dan's Easy Button Max Design for the Maelstrom-18. It is a 3.5 cu ft enclosure, slot ported, tuned to 20Hz (this is one of the designs in the Shiva-X2's application notes). It looks like a miniature Easy Button Max (that's deliberate, Dan! ;x( ), thus the name.
The one unique thing about this design - I planned it around handy panels, so people that don't have a vehicle that can carry a 4' x 8' sheet of plywood could build the sub with the 2' x 4' handy panels. The whole sub can be built with 5 of these panels.
Here is a Google sketch-up image of the box:
The box is 21" high, 21" wide, and 26.25" deep. It is designed with 3/4" panels and a double front baffle.
If anyone is interested, I have a cut sheet for the box.
