A place to keep up with Audio Video Interior news

This seems like people interested in the topics of Spaced Out. Check them out:

They have a design center in Ohio, if anyone is interested.

This is where I got my B&W 802Dis... the place is AMAZING!!!!!! They have full working mock-ups of a real HT room full of the B&W Custom Theater speakers (best theater I've ever heard). A full bar/pool room with virtual golf/hunting simulator, full kitchen (they film cooking shows there), mock living room, outdoor patio (built indoors), and a few listening rooms and custom board room. Ohh did I mention that they have a half mock up of a wine cellar with curving staircase!

Lol when I walked in I was offered wine, beer, anything that they could get me they wanted to provide. The person I contacted there is Joe Calderaro Phone: (440) 886-6666
Cell: (330) 421-9103. He is TOP NOTCH!!!! He even personally came down to deliver my speakers to me. I think he was a little disappointed when I said I'd unwrap them myself and place them... lol

Anyways, I can NOT speak enough on how professional and AMAZING the place is. Honestly, if I ever win a ton of money... I'll be contacting them to get a couple things done in a place I'd end up getting.

WKHanna can speak to how great the place and service is there (he got to experience it).

These guys are having an open-house / fund-raiser for a local children's hospital on Friday, 22 March.
They will have the Nautilus set up and running.

I wonder who one might run into there ???????

Oh my, you just might run into someone you know!

I do not want to spoil the 'thunder', so I will say no more than I unfortunately did not make it.
But someone we do know did.
I am sure a report will be appearing shortly.

Impressive. When I lived in San Antonio, a place I used to frequent Bjorn's, was almost as nice. I purchase My B&K there. I however was only offered coffee and a soft drink!

Last night I got invited from the place that I bought my Bowers and Wilkins 802Di's from to come listen to Nautilus.... Joe Calderaro did the invite and finally got to meet the Owner/CEO Michael Pope and many of the others that work there as well. All some of the friendliest and most hospitable people I've ever met. It's like being in Pittsburgh, only in Cleveland!!! ROFLMAO Couldn't resist!!!!

                Anyways, back to the Nautilus:

OMG. Hi-Res music... is pure... well.... MUSIC.

These are the Bowers & Wilkins 20th Anniversary pair they had produced and will sit in their headquarters in Boston, MA (USA)... Only had about 50 hours on them...but I broke them in very well. It took them 1 year to have these built. Found out they produce 2 to 3 a month (more than I thought). And on this night I could've walked out with a set ordered for only $45K (normal $60k). If I could've found ANY way to do it (and not have to buy the other ~$50K - $70K in pre/amps and home upgrades to the power to support everything... I'd have done it!!!)!

They were being powered by 4x Classe 2ch 300w/ch amps (yes each driver got 300watts) and really their should've been 8 monoblocks but the place didn't have the 40Amp circuits needs to drive all the amps, so they went with the "smaller" set up. All driven by the Classe CP-800. Pure Audio BLISS!

Of course this is all being fed with my laptop and a small selection of songs that I threw on my laptop last minute (I didn't know if they'd be able to stream the HD content from my home over the internet... didn't know their ISP connection there). So all the music I used to play (there was lots of everything that anyone brought)... was using Foobar -> WASAPI (event mode) -> Wireworld Starlight -> Musical Fidelity V-Link 192 -> Bluejeans Coaxial SPDIF (couldn't find an extra balanced cable) -> Classe CP-800.

There's just no words to describe how large and deep the soundstage is on these... Live performances sounded completely live.... you could tell a good 50ft to 100ft behind the speakers when you closed your eyes and just listened. Imaging was pin point with these things... I thought my 802Dis imaged well... well I was wrong. lol

I now know what level I need to get to. I just have no way of getting there. I can now believe this is what a mountain climber experiences when standing at the base of Mt. Everest or K2.... Except I don't know how to mountain climb.... LOL

I have to give (again) a big shout out to AudioVideo Interiors in Middleburg Heights, OH for letting me experience this and for also throwing me a free set of Bowers & Wilkins P5 headphones!!!! 8D

My friend James is sending me some of his pictures that he took with his better camera (though he was sooooo pissed he didn't take his DSLR -- didn't feel like taking such a big amount of stuff... KICKING himself now).

A few pictures (just got them)!!

                Personal Chef for the event

Wine Tasting Room (full stocked Win Room with curving real wood staircase to the middle of nowhere!

From L to R: Joe Calderaro, B&W head Rep for the US (can't remember his name at this moment, Michael Pope, and my friend James Nelson (all pictures are his)

Nautilus... need I say more than perfection?!

Outdoor (indoors) living area with artist Jackson Rohm who was pretty darn impressive I have to say!

Another of the wine room without people in it.

                    So.....I have to ask.......

....How long did it take till they escorted you & James out for constantly trying to adjust the toe & placement of the Nautilus' ????

Ha ha... after about 30 minutes in the room... I started helping out with demoing music! Like I was putting them on display... I think I even memorized the specs on them and all about them to tell people that walked in while they weren't doing the "scripted" part of the demo. LOL!

At 260lbs I wasn't even going to try to move the Nautilus... they had them set up at the almost perfect 45 degree angles right at the corners of the room. There wouldn't have been much movement needed to make them sound any better. Though I would've like to have moved them to the normal positions that I like my speakers at just to see. However, in talking with the B&W rep this is the recommended configuration to get the 3D sound stage from the Nautilus....and I've not heard such a deep sound stage on any speaker before (it was a good 40 to 50ft behind the speaker reaching at points. That's what I loved! So I might have to try moving the one couch in my room and see what the 802Dis do in the same configuration... hee hee. Might be a fun evening doing that and marking off the spots for them so I can put them back.

Just as an example in that Melody Gardot - Live at AVO Session tracks that I have (in the video you can see roughly where everyone was set up and in the sound on the audio... I could've sworn I was about 5 - 10 rows back dead center and could literally tell how far back things were. Was pretty cool and very realistic.

I think Butch did recognize me as a familiar face, however I didn't say anything to him... I figured my presence there was words enough.... I'm not sure if he was in the demo room when Joe touted about my having the 802Dis and how much better they sounded at home than in the shop....but if he was... that probably said all that was needed!

It was funny that Joe and the guys from the shop would come up to me and talk with me and hang out and sort of tell me who was who and who annoyed them and what not. The one guy just kept wanting to talk and talk to me about the digital audio (which I didn't mind), but at the same point people were trying to listen and he'd just keep talking. I thought Joe was getting a little angry and when the guy left he came over and said, "I hope you didn't think I was getting angry with you, it was all him, he does that a lot." lol So they I think like me.

As well as they should... I don't know how many people buy what I have off them...but it seems to have put me in good rankings with them all. Even the owner came over and talked me up and knew the whole story and just kept thanking me for the business and for coming up to the event... like he was honored I showed up!! Was pretty cool.

Needless to say... when I can get money... I think I'm moving to some Classe gear.

wow, this is some kind of place, and those are some kind of speakers for sure. 45K, geesh, and electronics. Count me out. I'll keep listening to my Sonus faber Extremas and old Levinson amp. But that is some kind of setup! Envious of getting to hear it for sure!

Doug... they were on sale for 45K, normally they are 60K.

And if I ever come into "powerball type of lottery money" then I'll have them and that's the end game for me. They truly were the experience of the, "How can it get better than this... and even if it does... will I even like it." I'd still like to hear the Alexandria XLFs, Focal Grande Utopias, MBL 101 Extreme, and AvanteGarde.....

But something tells me that all of those maybe or may not be better... they might just be different. Anyways, I think it'd be fun to hear and see and experience.

Back to on topic... I really do have to say they are one of the best places I've ever gone to from a audio buying standpoint. No pressure, friendly, and really an over all "top to bottom" approach at selling and doing what they do best. If you need the help and want them to do everything, they will... if you're like me and want to do it all your self and know exactly what you want... they'll help you out with that as well! Top Notch!
