    Backed into a Corner...

Just wondering if anyone has opinions on placement options in a rectangular room with a corner chopped off. The system is, at the moment across the short end of the rectangle (not lengthwise into the room, as I suspect is ideal), but I was toying with the idea of killing the gas fireplace in the cut off corner that we don't use, to use for the TV, and angling the system into the room from there.

    Very roughly, like this:
    ........._________________________________
    ......./.................................................. ...|
    ...../.................................................. .....|
    .../.................................................. .......|
    ./.................................................. .........|
    |................................................. ...........|
    |................................................. ...........|
    |................................................. ...........|
    |_____________________________________|

    It's approximately 10ft x 25ft.

Are there advantages to placing the system in the corner? Disadvantages?

edit: sigh, apparently no way to draw this out without the spaces getting nixed. Pardon the dots.
