advice on on-wall DIY treatments please

Looking to deaden my room a bit. Would like to make my own absorbing panels.
Thinking of using OC705 semi rigid insulation wraped in cloth.

    Anybody tried this?

I see others have used OC703, which would require making a frame.

    I would appreciate any input.

    Thanks

      OC703 used as box lining

Quick newbie question...I need to build a couple of sealed subwoofer boxes, the drivers require a 2 cu.ft. internal area.

If I were to use 2" OC703 fiberglass, instead of polyfil, as wall lining, will the drivers "see" a larger box? If so, what could/should I downsize the...

      Bonding OC703 to bare MDF
      by ashmostro
I'm thinking of using a spray adhesive to bond some OC703 sheets to the inside of an enclosure and have done some preliminary research which has turned up four products from two manufacturers:

      1) "Dan Tack" contact spray
      2) V&S 1081 Spray Adhesive
      3) V&S...

      Fabrics for Room Treatments
      by CupCak3
How important are the fabric properties for room treatments? The treatments I’ll be fabricating will be for first reflections and bass traps. After searching around for acoustically transparent fabrics, they seem to be very pricey and most of them are not wife approved (the ones which she does like...

      Hey All,

After a lot of reading and all of your help I am one step closer to finishing the room.

I have put 3" treatments at the first reflection spots and 6" in the front corners. The new sound is great... the biggest change is controlled bass and tighter mids...
