    Satellite setting

Guys, sometimes, when I first get online, my system is "checking" a box to do with lan settings.

If I go to internet explorer/tools/options/connections
click on Lan Settings at the bottom of the pop up window, the box for use a proxy server for your lan is checked. when this is checked, the connection doesn't work, web pages aren't displayable. I have had to uncheck this at least 4 times since Saturday. Any ideas what is causing this? Is there a setting in network properties that might be causing it to be rechecked?

    Thanks,
    Lex

    Satellite Radio (XM and Sirius)
    by Chris D
I'm curious who has experienced satellite radio, and what comments you could make. Obvious attractions for using it would be national radio reception, diverse programming, and perhaps portable capability.

But how does it SOUND, man, how does it SOUND? From what I understand, the audio...

Chroma Bug on Hughes E86 satellite receiver?
    by Chris D
I bought a Hughes E86 HDTV Satellite Receiver from Good Guys a few weeks ago. They're having a sale on them for $399, brought down even further to $299 if you buy any HDTV.

So far the set has been great. Others have reported local channel reception being dropped by these units, but I...

    VOOM Satellite is busting loose!
    by Sonnie Parker
Voom is really makin' some noise in the satellite world. Especially in the HD area as they are now up to 37 HD channels (21 of those exclusive to VOOM) and have more on the way in June.

We've posted a little on this in the past but they haven't had much offering up until recently....

New Home Construction, Wiring For Satellite
    by Stu
I am wiring a home for satellite for the TV/Home Theater. It is new home construction and no dry wall has been put up yet. I plan on running wires from the access point to the house and make home runs in the wiring from a video splitter to each room. There are eight rooms that I will be making home...

Another - RMB 1095 Ground Loop / Satellite
    by hamiltong
Like many others before me - after installing all my new toys (RSP 1068 & RMB 1095) - I now have the infamous ground loop hum. God it's annoying.

It's definitely attributed to my satellite coax feed. When unplugging the coax from the SAT receiver hum is gone. Or unplugging the S-Video...
