I finally figured out how to fix my Xmode problem!!!

    With this:

    ADK Tsunami Aluminum case:

Take two of these, and call me in the morning:

MP 1.4 or 1.6 for 100 bucks more, adding 512 meg of ram, and dual 60 gig drives. lol. My G3 graphics and 5.1 audio card go in after that. Lan card, CD writer, and you got one smokin system.

As far as I can tell, the only disadvantage to this package is, the board doesn't support the newst 760MPX (Corrected from MX) chipset for true 64 bit PCI. Is that really a deal breaker for a system like this?

Looks pretty d*mn righteous to me, Lex. What about the power supply? Is that included with the case? And what do you mean by not supporting true 64 bit PCI? Are those Erzatz 64 Bit PCI slots on that mobo?

    What's the ETA?

Yeup, dunno what the hell Lex is talking about... That mobo looks to have the AMD 760MX chipset installed.

That should fix that Xmode alright, and if not, what the hell!

      Is that for real Lex?

Yes, 420 watt power supply included. (I know it's bigger than 300, I think 420 is right) It's a booted special. By that, I mean, they configure the bios, and get it to an A prompt. I load my OS, and other peripherals.

Well, it's my understanding it has 64 bit PCIs, but they are still 33 mghz. Right? The new Tyan card is gonig to be 66 mghz with the newer chipset. Is that really that huge??? Forgive me if I have my bits and bytes confused, but I am just not a big hardware guy like you (Jon), and Bing.

I may give one of my other 2 systems to my daughter. Either the 900 mghz, or the 1.4 mghz with that confound ABIT.

ETA Wed or Thurs this week, maybe Friday.

Here is the complete writeup. It says it's the 760-MP chipset, not the MPX.

The new tiger board that is not out yet has the MPX, and supports 66 mghz PCI speed.

Here is the page introducing the new board, that isn't out yet. drat!

I really like the fact this is designed for W2K too.

Here's the store link, FYI, you guys may want to book mark them. Pretty nice Kentucky hillbillies there, that know a little bit about computers.

Haha Andrew, got your attention huh?

Well, I simply cannot live with a system that reboots randomly as my main system. After all, it's for my work.

I know it's overkill for most applications. However, when you need processing power, I will have it! Adobe products are major resource hogs, and of course it will be a gaming supersystem. :B

But mostly, I learned a long time ago, when buying a new system, buy absolutely all you can when you get one. Otherwise, it's obsolete before you get it home.

That is going to be one serious piece of hardware.

Well that sets the standard now, I was looking to upgrade to the new Abit KR7-R with a +1900xp, but now I'll wait until some of those boards I posted Here become available. Can't let Lex have all the fun
