Necro post! LOL I create a different, random, password for everything. None of them are shared, the shortest are 8 characters, and they're random strings of lower case and upper case letters with numbers and symbols scattered throughout. I have a hard copy of them all, because there is no way I could memorize them all. The only weak passwords I have are two for forums I belong to. If they are out to get you, being paranoid is just right thinkin'! LOL

we have a rogue PC that we use at work for random duties such hooking up measurement equipment or running test programs.
sat in a corner for about a year when I pulled it out to hook up a force measurement transducer for some mechanical testing I am conducting.

well, anyone who may have remembered the windows password for this unit was gone, dead or had no clue.
we downloaded a free program from a google search that ran linix, loaded it in the CD drive, ran the program.

the entire process from Google search to log-on was less half an hour.
after booting the program, i had the Windows 7 password in less than 5 minutes.

Physical access is the key there. My pw protocol is a defense against outside intrusion.

          IMPORTANT: Change your eBay passwords!
          by Kevin P
eBay reported a large security breach a few days ago. Some personal, non-financial information was compromised including encrypted passwords.

If your password isn't strong, it could be cracked using the encrypted hash and brute force. And if you use the same password on multiple sites,...

          Google Sketchup question
          by JoshK
This seems like the best place to ask this question since many here are good with drawing programs. I am worse than novice at these programs. I find them anything but intuitive. Even stuff like changing the unit of measurements from centimeters to inches was buried somewhere that seem very illogically...

          Some random driver tests
          by Reet
Before Christmas I had been building a test rig. Over the holidays I was sick and without energy to do much and didn't want to leave the house, what better time to run through a bunch of driver tests. I ended up testing everything I had sitting on my shelves, as well as pulled a few drivers that I'm...
