    Region free external DVD drives?

I need an external DVD drive for my Laptop. I among others want to use it to watch films (among other things). I own DVDs from several regions with different region codes. Thus, I need an external DVD drive that allows me to play them all. A RPC1 drive would be fine. I read that it is possible to change the firmware to make a drive play different region code DVDs. That would be fine as well, as long it is save (and easy) to do.
Which drives would you suggest me?
    Thanks
    Additional Details
I’m on Linux and I use vlc to play videos. Vlc can play any DVD if it is only a RPC1 drive.

Not all drives can be re-flashed, a few mins with google (http://rpc1.org) should clear up which ones can.
