    The Commodore 64 is back!!

Did you hear that Commodore is back, and they're introducing a modern version of the Commodore 64? Check this out: http://www.commodoreusa.net/CUSA_C64.aspx

In addition to running modern PC OSes and software, it has a built-in C64 emulator available from the boot menu so you can run the classic games too! It also has HDTV compatible outputs (to hook up to your modern TV), or a computer monitor.

Pretty neat stuff, especially if you grew up with one.

Looks like they're going to release a modernized Amiga too!

    Now that's funny.

Didn't the C64 always have HDMI?

I'm good with my PS3 though.

Well, we're safe for now. Thank goodness we're in a bowling alley.

        Amiga Build (europe)
        by digi128pci
        Hi all,

I was looking for a good speaker set for my TV setup ( I have a 2.1 setup Onkyo LS 3100 ATM).

First I was thinking about a bookshelf speaker like setup.
I found the site of Paul Carmod and found some designs that looked fine, but also noticed the amiga....

        New Amiga build
        by Anderton
        Hi all,

I recently completed Paul Carmody's Amiga speaker with some help from my girlfriend, built as a wedding gift for some dear friends of ours. I was unable to document the build in photos, but I thought I'd share the final product (placement in photos is temporary).

        I...

Breaking with modern conventions - a highly musical 2-way system using an 8" woofer
        by theSven
        By Jon Hancock

This article will describe the fruits of my efforts to build a moderate sized speaker which might be moderately above average in performance for a basic two-way system. I desired a speaker like this both for my own use in secondary systems, and to fill a need for some friends, who desired fairly full range response (i.e., “it’s gotta have good bass”). Also, though I have access to a good wood shop, many potential DIY enthusiasts may not, so I hoped to use a modified...

modern design speakers in a very bad room

Blueroom Minipods? Mirage Omnisat? B&W VM1? Pinnacle Quantum Plasma 5s and 3s? All are great looking from afar and some boast innovative sound design, too.

The quest: wall-mountable speakers with a very modern design (eye-catching or understated exterior style, with metal, white or...

The State of Modern Record and Gear Technology-A Personal View
        by Karma
Note: I first posted this little personal view as a part of a different thread. I decided that it might offer an opportunity for some good discussion. So, I decided to make a thread out of it for a larger audience.

        The Post:
Yes, it does seem that the prices of analog reproduction...
