    G'day,

I picked up a Harmony 676 from Amazon yesterday for US$103. I couldn't justify the US$250 asked for the 880, which seems (to me) to be a tarted up Harmony 680, although with more activity buttons.

And the differences between the 680 and the 676 seemed minor anyway. I don't believe there's much difference between these three models, in terms of functionality (see this comparison chart for example).

It would have been cool to get the 880, but I reckon the 676 is the next best option.

      Hello,

I’m new to the HT world so hopefully those that are more knowledgeable can lend a hand. However, I am a techie at heart. I recently purchased a Denon AVR 2803 with a Mirage Omnisat setup. However, the unit didn’t come with the factory remote. Would anyone know if a universal remote like the Logitech Harmony 880 can perform the set up features the mostly performed by a factory remote? Any advice will be greatly appreciated.

Most AVR setup functions are accessed from a setup menu. The Harmony can be programmed to acess that setup and from there ity's mostly up down left right and enter buttons which just about any universal remote is equipped with.

Any suggestions on where to find color icons for the 880? Logitech has a site that only has them in B&W.

Proud new owner of an 880....and am very happy so far. Everything that has been said already about ease of use is true. I am still learning the ropes for tweaking, but it not only controls the componets in the fashion I choose, but it seems to have so many commands for the old remotes already at my tips. Nothing worse than a remote that turns something on, but can't ever get to a menu item.

                HARMONY 880 Universal Remote
                by DrJRapp
Earlier this week I picked up a Logitec Harmony 880 universal remote to replace my now defunct Sony RM3000 which had been dropped one too many times. Simplicity in a remote is the key criterion here since my wife is a technophobe when it comes to audio and I have a 15 YO step son who already blew out...

? about buttons on Harmony 880
                by Pez
I am considering the 880 but need to find out a few things about it first. Here they are:

                1) The "Device" button, what does that do?

                2) The "Activities" button, what does that do?

                3) The "Media" button, what does that do?...

                Harmony remote with RSX-1056?
                by stantheman2
I have owned the RSX-1056 for almost a year but have never liked the remote - I have to reset every time I want to use the OSD, I sometimes have to enter commands multiple times, etc. I saw the Harmony remotes (659, 688, and 880) and was intgrigued by the Internet-based programming and seeming good...
