    Benq 6200 or Infocus 4805?

    Hi,

I am about to pull the trigger on a front proj. What do you think of the Benq Vs the Infocus? Or do yhave any other suggestions around the $A2,500 mark?

I am always cautious about making recommendations because I feel you have to see something for yourself. But as far as differences go: The 6200 is a 4:3 dlp PJ with a resolution of 1024 x 768 ( the same as the NEC Ht1000 I own.) The BenQ has a 16:9 mode for widescreen and this gives a res of 1024 x 576. You may notice some light spill with a 4:3 PJ unless you use dark masking around your screen. As for the 4805, well it has a lower res of 854 x 468. The good thing is you don't have to concern yourself about light spill as the Infocus has a true 16:9 shaped dmd. But really, you should see them both before making a decision.

I compared both as well as several other DLP's and LCD's and ended up going for the 4805. :T

              Hello,

I purchased the InFocus x1 a couple of years ago along with a portable Da-Lite white 6x8 screen. We use it a couple of times a month (whenever a movie worthy of the extra effort comes along, or when the kids invite their friends over, etc). It has also been a blast to host our...

Hi I am using an Infocus 4805 projector with the Comcast HDTV receiver (Motorola DCT 6200) - I am interested in getting true HD quality TV - with my current component cable at 1080i and 720P resolution, the image appears but no colors - all I can see is images in a green tint. The colors only appear...

              My new Infocus 4805!
              by ti33er
Well well well, the UK has finally graced us Brits with the much talked about Infocus 4805!

I had a demo yesterday afternoon, and without a shadow of a doubt, handed over my plastic wallet within 30 minutes – we did a side-by-side comparison with the Infocus 5700, and I tell you what,...

I was fortunate enough to have the use of a new 4805 & 76-inch Infocus screen for a couple of weeks. I'm planning to buy a projector and screen in mid-February.

(Incidentally, it will definitely be a step up, no matter what: It's replacing a Kloss Novabeam built around 1982. Works...
