I was thinking the other night about up grades. What came to my mind was, having a console built to raise my rptv up off the floor. Say about 30in so I could make some room for some amps down below tv,down the road.I already have an et center (w/two towers and 2 bridges) rpt slides in very nicely.Has anybody lifted their rpt that much? Pros cons
Good idea or not ?

Raising the base of the TV nearly 3 feet will likely degrade the picture when watching seated.
I've seen many stores that have rear projection sets that far off of the ground because your eye-viewing level should be as close the the center of the screen to get the best picture. For most RPTVs the lenticular screen causes a sharp falloff in the brightness when viewed from above or below the screen centerline.
If you can, set the TV up as high as you want temporarily just to see how the picture looks to you. Then you can judge whether or not you want to make that setup permanent.- Bottom
