Seems to be a pretty good price as long as it's not a demo model etc.

As of last night $2750.00 without stand but taxes, warranty & delivery. Anyone one why the 60' SXRD is now $2000.00? Maybe Christmas prices.

What are the differences between these two models ??

what justifies the 1K$ difference ?

                xbr entails "Xtra Bright"
simplisticly the picture will be more uniformly bright and generaly better
as to what causes this specificaly in this model i could not tell you
i believe it has the added hdmi too
                probably more too

also the xbr2 is commision baised stores where as the a2000 is big box

think well equiped camry vs entry lexus

The price is fair if, like others have stated, that it's new and not a demo. You can pick up the TV cheaper than that online but I don't know if you trust that route. I've seen the two TVs within 50 feet of each other and BOY does the XBR make a difference and it's worth the G...if you ask me.

                    The xbr

                    Today's deal:

                    60' XBR with matching stand
5yr service plan (1 bulb included)
                    taxes & delivery
                    $43,150.00

This is from a local dealer in the Philly area. We are not comfortable with buying this on line.

not so much of a deal in my eyes but still less than retail

the xbr model comes with a free bulb- ive seen the picture starts to turn green around the edges after a few years (or heavy use in my case)- i assume it was the bulb

the 60xbr2 probably costs 2700-3000 for the dealer
the stand is 50 -80% margin
the waranty is about 70% (i am personaly leary of warentys from small buisnesses or ones that outsource it to another company)

to me you realy dont need a warrenty w/ a free bulb as this tv doesnt have moving parts like a DLP, just a battery back up w/ remote control will keep the bulb alive durring a power outage

dependng on the competition in your area i think you could get the tv + stand for 3500 if you realy wanted

                              Sony's 60' xbr vs. non-xbr

                              Hello All,

After reading the specs on both TVs, what the difference except $$ & speakers on the side. The xbr is a great looking TV cosmedically, but when they both are on is their a $1,000 difference?

the xbr has uniform brightness like a flat panel
the regular looks like a rear projection (hot spot)

We may go with the Sony KDS-60A2000 Package for $3400.00
                                  The XBR2 package is $4350.00. That's a $950 difference.
But the XBR1 package is $3950.00. XBR1 must upconvert to 1080p. The other 2 has true 1080p.

                                      This is what we got:

                                      Sony's KDS-60A2000 & A BDI stand
                                      5yr warranty with replacement bulb
                                      delivery & taxes
                                      $3700.00

We needed a different stand to fit our center speaker (Paradigm Studio CC).

That sounds like a great setup. I owned a 50" Sony LCD RPTV years ago and it was great, and two of my friends currently have the smaller brother of the 60" Grand Wega and both really love their TVs, especially watching HD material.

                                            Enjoy!

Here is the deal, called my dealer and told him I'm looking for a deal I can't refuse. He offered me the Sony VPL HS51 for $2496.00, however he also carries the Sharp XVZ2000. I know this is LCD vs digital. Is this a good deal? Has anyone compared the two? I currently have a screen with a gain...

                                                Hi,

My dealer offered me his demo pair of 800Ds at $19,500 Cdn. At the same time someone offered me $4,000 Cdn for my N802s. The dealer has offered to broker the deal at no cost.

                                                Is this a good deal?

What is the normal retail of the 800Ds? (preferably...

                                                Looking for deal on RSP-1066
                                                by spiffnme
I've just bought a used RB-1075, and have pretty much decided that unless I find an AMAZING deal on a RB-1080, I'll be purchasing a used RB-991 to power my mains. So that leaves getting an RSP-1066.

I hate paying full msrp for anything. Especially something as pricey as $1500! Any suggestions...

Good deal on new 800 series
                                                by caleb
My local retailer is making the following offer: -

Trade in a pair of 800 series speakers and get 50% off the price of the new serioes equivalent.

This means that the new 802D selling for R97,000 - give him your old 802's and pay R48,500.
