    Panasonic or Screenplay

Am looking at buying either a screenplay 5700 or a Panasonic 900e projector, both similarly priced.
Does anyone have any experience with either of these projectors and could comment.
The other thing is that i have a fairly small room, I could only have the projector back about 11 or 12ft from the screen. The Panasonic has a bigger angle up close, what would be the better option for this?
What are the pros and cons for both. the 5700 is also a $1000 more expensive, any reason for that, is it just the matterhorn chip?

The Infocus 5700 first shipped in June 2003, if I were to consider Infocus it would be the Infocus Play Big IN76, but that's another story.

I currently own the Panasonic 900U the US version of the 900E (European), it is an LCD projector, beautiful picture, with average blacks. Great bang for the buck, including the $400.00 rebate from Panasonic. I am unsure whether the 900E qualifies, but that is what certainly pushed me towards the 900U (my wife as well ). The 900 also provides better mounting options, with Lens Shift and 2X manual zoom. I certainly don't regret my decision, picture is not as sharp as a DLP, but it more than makes up for it with beautiful eyepopping color, no RBE or VB. Add an upcoverting DVD player, and HDTV, you'll never want to leave your home. Just ensure you have a light controlled room if you choose the 900E. So I guess you know which I would choose.

Just my quick thoughts, I hope this helps.

    Peace and blessings,

    Azeke

Also, the 5700 is not 1280 x 720p and with HD dvds just around the corner, I would certainly not buy a pj with a lesser res.

        My new Infocus 4805!
        by ti33er
Well well well, the UK has finally graced us Brits with the much talked about Infocus 4805!

I had a demo yesterday afternoon, and without a shadow of a doubt, handed over my plastic wallet within 30 minutes – we did a side-by-side comparison with the Infocus 5700, and I tell you what,...

I havn't seen one in action, but all the reviews have said it is a top class projector. The only concern I have is witht the throw distance of the projector, seems to be quite long,...

        Panasonic 900U Projector
        by mendacio
Hi guys! So I'm a newbie to all this projection stuff, however-it has come to my attention that my parents might be better off with a projector for a home theatre room, considering we're building a new house this coming year. Anyways, I was on buydig.com (i think that's the address. lol) and they had...

        by RobinK
        Hi guys

I'm a new to these forums. I notice there are a few South Africans here. Can any of you guys tell me what is the average price on a 5700? I am currently in the UK and not sure whether to buy here or local.

        Many thanks
