Shipping & tuner Q

It just rubbs me the wrong way to trust UPS with a large expensive thing like a new plasma TV. But I guess its done all the time. Theres a much nicer selection on-line than at CC or BB, so I'm tempted. Any thoughts on this? Has anyone bought on-line?

Also why pay hundreds more for a built in tuner when your cable or satalite company already has a tuner? Even a seperate broadcast a tuner is about 200 bucks, but getting a tuner built in seems to add a heck of alot more than 200. Whats the deal with that?

I prefer to shop for things like TV's in store, YMMV.

As for tuners, lot's of people don't want STB's for starters and they've also been mandated by the government. Fortunately there are still many models available without so you still have a choice

I don't think UPS will ship plasmas due to their size and weight, usually when we order one it's shipped by a freight company.

As for tuners, you can get a monitor rather than a "TV" which has no tuner.
