    Rotel Tuner RT-06

Haven't found any threads about Rotel DAB Tuner RT-06.

I have a Rotel RA-03 amp and RCD-02 cd player, with B&W 603Ss. Wanted to know what the experience has been with the above tuner - it is quite a lot more expensive than quite a few other brands, and I did read one complaint about its start up time. I really want to buy a tuner soon and I like Rotel, generally. Is it worth sticking with Rotel for tuner as well? (Currently am very happy with the sound I am getting from my system) Any comments, advice, especially from someone who has the RT06, would be greatly appreciated
Will mainly use tuner to listen to classical music stations.

I use my turner a lot, so I wanted a good one when I started shopping for one.

I already had Rotel amps and and an RSP-1066 and knew Rotel had had a great rep for their turners. I ended up getting a used Magnum Dynalab on Agon, and don't regret it. Its look integrates V well with my system (black is phat) but the performance is still something that amazes me. Magnum Dynalab also sells factory refurbished units at their web site.

wkhanna, thanks for the input. Could you tell me which Magnum Dynalab you bought? There seems to be quite a range of them on the market, and they vary greatly in price - e.g. the F-11 - will that still be superior to the Rotel DAB, in sound quality?

        Feedback on Magnum Dynalab

I took Bill's advice (wkhanna) and researched the Magnum Dynalab option. I eventually bought the MD-90. Have had it here in Berlin for two months now.

It is simply superb. Way beyond anything I imagined before. The stereo clarity is as good (often it sounds better!) than my CDs. It is simple to operate.

It looks beautiful with my two (black) rotels (amp and cd player) - and just sings with my B&Ws - I am sure glad I asked about it on this forum.

        So thanks Bill!!!!

I have been meaning to shoot you an email to see how your Sept move went!

I am V glad things worked out for you. You got a great deal on that tuner from the factory. It will last a lifetime, and if radio is still around, your kids will get years of life from it, too. :T

Bill, looks like we got a private space to chat on this forum! Do so few people listen to the radio - hell they are missing out!

Berlin is great - great music channels. I'll tell you one thing, those MDs better be strong, 'cause I ain't switching them off!

Does yours also "tune" even when power is off? The MUTE function also rocks.

I have never heard a digital hi-end radio (like the rotel i was thinking of buying) - but with these, I don't think i care to.

Look me up if you come to Berlin. Drinks are on me!!

Well my MD is at least 20 years old, and I turn it on every day. As I said earlier, some day I will upgrade, but it works so well now, it is a purchase I am in no hurry to make.

Many have commented on its good sound and the phrase ‘CD like’ is common.

I am thrilled you like yours and I envy the plethora of stations there. Have you used up your pre-sets yet?

My signal level and channel separation dials do not function when the unit is powered down, but we have different models.

It may be a few years before I make it back to Germany, but the next time I visit the Continent, I will be sure to let you know.

Bill, the MD-90 does not have any presets. One would need to buy a remote with it - which would allow you 20 or so presets - but I really have no need for such things.
The compensation, anyway, is the channel separation while power is down. I essentially listen to one main station, so it goes straight to it when I put power on - no delay, no searching for signal, nothing - it is like I have pressed play on a CD track. That is the thing ... it just does not feel like you are tuned into the "radio" - it is more like you have direct line to the recording room...

Does yours also have the MUTE function?

Check out the MD-90 on dynalab site. Larry and co might give you a good deal on a later model - you happen to be one of their best reps!

OK, this isn't related to B&W but I figure that most B&W owners, particularly those in the 800 series are dedicated / passionate / addicted enough to high end audio that they wouldn't find it odd to consider spending a few thousand on an FM tuner.

So, does anyone have any experience...

                  Hello All,

A friend got a good deal on a Lexicon MC-1 pre-amp. Any suggestions on a good FM tuner? I love Rotel's RT-02 but it only comes in silver. He want's a dark color.

Anyone own one of these tuner/ music server Rotel units? If so what can you comment about it? How is the D/A converter in it?

                  RTC 950AX Tuner Preamp Question
                  by HuskerInTX
I have an RTC 950 AX Tuner Preamp (legacy Rotel). Recently I tried to access an AM station 1620. The AM section on my unit only goes up to 1600. Is this true for all of these units? Or is there an issue with my unit. Any comments are greatly appreciated.

                  Rotel 1065 Buzzing Problem
                  by xspale
                  Hi Everyone,

I am new to Rotel and this forum. Before few weeks I purchased Rotel 1065 A/V Receiver from 2002.
If I am close to speakers I can hear silent buzzing sound from left speaker. I have tried to disconnect everything and switch to fm tuner but buzzing is still there....
