I've seen brightness modes on the H79 listed as econo, regular, and high-brightness...but only two modes in any single document. Does the H79 have two modes or three? Which mode is used to rate lamp life and light output?

PJ's generally only have two. High lamp (regular) and low lamp (econo). As usual, they're going to rate max lamp life at the low lamp setting, and max lumens at the high lamp setting.
The H79 from what I hear is fairly bright; I doubt illumination will be a concern in any mode unless you're trying to light up huge screen (130+ diagonal).- Patrick

by madmacWell folks, it looks like I'm cruzin' quickly into getting a new lamp for my Sony SXRD RPTV!. The picture has started to fluctuate in brightness while watching it. The timing is about right because it's been many years since I last changed it.
Question though, The manual states to go... -
