New Panasonic Plasmas

Hi,

I think I've found the set that I'm going to buy for a bedroom armoire. Panasonic is launching their new plasmas, in May, and they have a 37" with speakers on the bottom. Future Shop occasionally runs a deal where you get a free BEV HD receiver with the purchase of a larger TV, so when I spot this I'll pull the trigger.

I am not sure if there is a time diff or not. But they are not shipping the new Panny's here in the States till June. They are also going to be a LOT cheaper than this years HD Panny's! Don't forget they are gutted. (At least that is what the rep told me. Have not see one yet) And yep you are right the new panny's have the speakers at the bottom.

What does stripped down actually imply?
Are there any revues of the new Panasonics out there yet?

I have not seen any reviews on it yet. Panny's website does not even show it right now. I only know what my Rep told me, and what a few friends that went to the show in Vegas this year told me. But they (Panny ) stripped it from what I hear. It is basically a "Monitor Only" No ATSC tunner, I am not even sure if it has a NTSC tunner in it. The rep told me that you "Have" to have a cable box, or Sat box to watch TV on it. I do know that the Retail price has dropped hundreds of bucks on this new modle. It seems to me that it is more along the lines of the commercial version than anything. It really sounds like it is going to be sweet. Panny makes a SWEET TV. I have a drawing from the rep and it does look a lot better than the old version. The best way I can describe the looks of the new Panny is to take a look at the Sharp Aquos the ones with the speakers on the bottom and that will give you an idea of what the new Panny will look like.

I wish I could tell you more about the new modle but that is all I know for now. I also know that I can not order them untill June. BB and Circuit City might have some sort of deal that they get them early. Most people have to have a cbale box any ways, so the big savings would definatly be worth the wait.

You should also check with the Forum Sponsors NL and see if Jimmy can hook you up with one. I am pretty sure that he sells Panny's. Lex mentioned the other sponsor but I have not seen his link as of yet.
