    Signal loss using coupler?

I setup my 4805 this weekend and the 4m composite cable I bought was a little too short for my ceiling mount. Because this is the longest cable they sell in my local stores I bought some couplers and used the 3 foot cable the projector came with. My question is how signal is lost by using a coupler vs. buying a new longer cable?

    Thank you.

I'm no expert on cables but I doubt if you'd see any signal loss on composite with a coupler. Is there a reason you are using composite ? This is not the best connection for your projector.Componet is best for picture quality and S-Video second.

Thanks George, Sorry, I am using the component cable. I couldn't see why I would lose a lot of signal either. The sales guy at Tweeter etc. said I would have significant loss, then tried to sell me a $250 cable that was long enough.

As long as the coupler and cable (connectors) are of decent quality you should see little, if any, signal degradation. A cheap coupler or cable connectors or dirty connections cause more degradation than the use of a coupler in the first place.

The guy at Tweeter just wanted to sell you an overpriced cable.

periodic loss of HD signal OTA
                by lancef
When recieving HD signals over the air I get an occasional loss of signal for 2 or 3 seconds and the screen goes blank. Any ideas as to why I lose the signal. I have a 50 IN SONY LCD with an 80 in boom/32 element antenna roof mounted. I am roughly 28 to 30 miles from transmisson tower.
