This topic has been covered to some extent but I haven't found a thread that provides a complete set of instructions for getting a Sanyo PLV-Z2 projector to work correctly with an ATI graphics card using a DVI connection. I having the same problem others have had that is the projected image is limited to 1024x768. My primary interest is watching movies. If anyone could walk me through the basic steps it would be appreciated.

hi mate, i have a z2 with a ati 9800pro htpc via dvi and it defaults to 1280x720 when watching on the z2 which is the native res for the z2. you shouldnt need to do anything because my ati is also hooked up to my tv as well via s-video which will default to 640x480 (or something like that).
basically what ever you are going to watch your htpc on needs to be switched on b4 you switch on the computer so it knows what res to default to.

Looks like ATI is offering a trade up program that allows you to trade in your old video card for what can amount to $150us off the price of the AIW 8500 128mb Radeon.
Sounds like a good deal!
