    new TV, limited budget ($2000-$3000)

hmm... I wanna get a New TV to go with New HTS, but my budget for it is somewhat limited.. $2000, I suppose if it was *really* necessary I could stretch to $3000 but I wouldn't want to go much beyond that. I'm not bothered wether its Plasma, cos I figure for that much money I won't get a great plasma? Also, doesn't have to be a TV.. Projector would suit me fine.

Any and all comments welcome! Thanks a lot, Will.

If light control isn't an issue you just answered your own question Projectors aren't ideal for watching daytime TV on but for sports and movies they're impossible to beat. In my case I have a small 32" Sony TV that I use for most TV watching and drop the screen down for sporting events and movies etc that warrent the big screen. I have some friends with some nice "regular" TV's that are all shapes and sizes but they all are way too small for movie watching when you're used to a 92" screen filling your view.

hmmm.. I think you've convinced me! I have a Sharp 32" WS TV, so I think I'll go with a Projector.. Who are the better makes for Projectors? Spotted a nice sony one (VPL-HS50) But I think I'll keep looking and try to shed a few hundred pounds from the price. £1900 (approx $3500) is a little steep for my likings, altho I could push to that...

I set/up my HT room with an Infocus SP4805 and it's fantastic with my Rotel stuff. Only $1499.00 and will blow you away for HD Sports and Specials as well as movies in 480p. Can't go wrong IMO.
