A must have. I am so glad I did not purchase all the DVD's that have been out. That was such a waste to just put 2 episodes on 1 DVD.

Sep. 21, 2004 Star Wars: The Original Trilogy

If it really were the ORIGINAL trilogy, I'd be interested. Since it is the bowdlerized "Revised Special Editions" this is a pass for me. (Thank goodness for laser disc.) :>)

Now, October will be a month to look forward to -- at last, Van Helsing on DVD!!! Hehe... just kidding about that one, but it is nice to see that some hot titles and real classics are being offered that month. Fahrenheit 9/11 and The Creature From The Black Lagoon are both on my potential purchase list. November will be a winner too, with Shrek II and Spider Man II. Really enjoyed those at the commercial theater and I would watch both again tonight if I had the discs.

Leon and Fifth Element Ultimate Editions in January.

If it is just "extras" that make these forthcoming editions "Ultimate", they won't be in the running for me. On each of them, they will really have to pull out the stops on the film itself, improving both the audio and video beyond what we already have had available, to make a purchase worthwhile. But both have been released in Superbit editions. I can't imagine anything short of hi-def (whichever flavor) surpassing the Superbit releases.

The Incredibles is alleged to be coming out March 15. I firmly predict at least 85% of you will think this movie totally kicks ass on several levels, HT eye & ear candy being not the least of them. Buy buy buy!

I'm with Brandon....I seriously enjoyed the Incredibles....this movie has the potential to be the new gold standard in sight and sound demo material.

After all that, it's simply a hoot....a great superhero movie on several levels. I'd say a little intense in parts for kids under 5 though (the baddie in this is truely bad) Parents are warned....I found out the hard way unfortunately.

Looking at the various lists, I'm only buying the incredibles. The rest are not worth owning.

I didn't get Leon or Fifth Element fearing this will be an early Blu Ray release to show off the format. I don't want to buy TFE yet again in a year. The same goes for alot of releases now.

I'm very interested in the new Battlestar Galactica Season 1 DVD, but am I finding nothing but a UK version that's either out or to be released soon. Nothing about a US/region 1 DVD. Does anyone know? And why is US show being released earlier abroad then here in the US? Same thing happenned with 24. Not fair.

The Best Buy/UK version has a few important differences from the US version:

1) Best Buy/UK release date is 7/26/05, whereas the US version is 9/20/05.

2) Best Buy/UK is a 4-disc set versus the 5-disc US version.

3) Best Buy/UK does NOT include the miniseries which originally aired on 12/8/03. The US version includes this miniseries, thus accounting for the extra disc.

4) Best Buy/UK has the UK version of the opening theme (I believe it's the same one that is being used for Season 2). The US version will include the opening theme seen here in the states.

5) Best Buy/UK will only have deleted scenes as extras, whereas the US version will have deleted scenes PLUS making-of/artwork material.

6) Best Buy/UK will be discontinued as of 9/20/05.
